OVERVIEW:
The Super Scorpion is a unique and sleek sport jet normally found among
the ranks of the composite/gas turbine crowd. Thanks to 3d-printing, it
is now possible to build your very own 1100mm version of this iconic

DESIGN:
Designed for quick, easy construction and printed all in PLA, the
modular design aspect of this model lends itself beautifully for both
easy disassembly for transport as well as quick repair should it sustain
damage.Utilizing 6 channel controls; Aileron, Elevator, Rudder,
Throttle, Flaps and Retractable landing gear, this model holds a
fantastic presence in the air, while its flight characteristics have
been described as "glued to the rails”.
FUSELAGE:
Built around the specifications and performance of the X-fly 70mm EDF,
this model has more than enough power to perform all manner of aerobatic
maneuvers. The Edf is also removable thanks to the hatch on the
underside of the Fuselage. The Canopy is secured with a printed spring
latch to ensure a secure lock no matter what g-forces are thrown at it.
WINGS:
Designed to be quickly removable for transport, the wings boast a large
area making the slow flying characteristics stable and easy to handle.
Featuring slots for carbon tubes, the wing structure is sure to manage
all sorts of aerobatic maneuvers. Washout in the wingtips ensures that
the stall is very docile and manageable. The inclusion of slotted flaps
mean that landings are very floaty and be used to slow the model down
nicely for short runways.
TAIL:
A full flying tail means elevator authority will always be sharp and
precise. These can also be programmed depending on the performance
expectations. Firstly in the conventional style with the full flying
tail handling just pitch, or it can be tasked as stabilators,
controlling both roll and pitch. The latter will "wow” the crowds with
an impressive roll rate, making even the most agile of 3D aerobatic
models envious.
UNDERCARRIAGE:
The retractable gear will add another layer of scale detail whilst
significantly reducing drag. Designed to accommodate commercially
available sprung gear legs, takeoffs and landings from both bumpy grass
or hard surface runways will be smooth and safe.
